9.4.2008 | Dream Boy

Boys are dumb. Just like in general. They treat you like a queen when they are try to convince you to fuck them and then when you refuse (or give in) it’s like they turn into freaking ice. Maybe I am talking to the wrong types of guys. I don’t know. I just am not attractived to any guy right now - they are all such big turn offs.

But my dream boy…like wow. I literally do mean a dream boy too. It was from the dream last night. In my dream I was in a highschool class room and something happened [like a shooting I think] and everything was chaos. Then this girl [in reality she’s a girl from middle school that I havent seen in years] comes up to me and tells me I need to go to the hospital because dream boy [I don’t remember if she used a name for him] has been hurt and he says he wants to see me. So then BAM! I’m at the hospital and in the waiting room. He comes out in clutches and tells me he has to tell me something.

I follow him to this bench where he takes out pieces of torn paper and reads me this poem [the only part I remember is ‘i even have your face on my lighter’ to which he hands me his lighter and sure enough my pic is on it]. It’s really weird because I’m sure I have never met this guy. He was tall 5′9 maybe, had long black hair that reached his shoulders but it was tied in a ponytail in my dream, he was tan but pale with grey/hazel eyes. Oh and he had a British accent! He could skateboard and he could play the guitar. Anyway after he read the poem I was speechless and he grinned, cupped my face in his hands, and leaned in to kiss me. It was crazy how I could really feel the kiss. It wasn’t like sexual or anything but had alot of passion. The impact of the kiss was so strong I jumped out of bed and that ended my dream. It sucked that I couldn’t jump back into the dream and I probably won’t dream anything like that again - at least not with that impact. But of course it would rock if I could find this dream boy out there somewhere. *sigh* Oh well.

How do I get closer to you
When you keep it all on mute
How will I know the right way to love you

Usually the Queen of figurin out
Breaking down a man is no work out
But I have no clue
How to get through to you

I wanna hit you just to see if you cry
I keep knockin’ on wood, hopin there’s a real boy inside

But you’re not a man
You’re just a Mannequin
I wish you could feel that my love is real
But you’re not a man

I wish I could just turn you on
Put a battery in and make you talk
Even pull a string for you to say anything

But with you there is no guarantee
Only expired warranty
A bunch of broken parts
And I can’t seem to find your heart

I’m such a fool
I’m such a fool
I’m such a fool
This one’s outta my hands
I can’t put you back together again

Cause you’re not a man
You’re just a Mannequin
I wish you could feel that my love is real
But you’re not a man
You’re just a, a toy
Could you ever be a real, real boy
And understand
But you’re not a man

If the past is the problem
Our future can solve them baby
I could bring you life if you let me inside baby
This will hurt but in the end You’ll be a man

Cause you’re not a man
You’re just a Mannequin
I wish you could feel that my love is real
You’re just a, a toy
Could you ever be a real, real boy
And understand
But you’re not a man

So I am supposed to keep track (in other words keep a journal) of what I do at my internship on a weekly basis. It is supposed to be around a page (or less) about what I have done during the day. Honestly speaking, all I do is answer the phone - how am I supposed to stretch one task into a paragraph. O.O I’m so screwed.

I was missing you
You were miles away
He was close to me
I let him stay
Then I closed my eyes
He almost felt the same
But when the morning broke
I cried out your name

If I’d only known
It would break us
I’d have done anything just to save us

‘Cause you’re all I have
When the world comes down on me
You’re the one I love
And I’m begging you to see
You’re all, you’re all, you’re all I have
You are, you are the one I love
You are, you are, you’re all I have

You’ve forgiven me
But it doesn’t change
The guilt I feel when you mention his name
No more innocence
How to trust again
Wanna believe that you won’t do the same

And every time we fight
We’re gettin’ closer
I slowly die inside
I’m scared it’s over

‘Cause you’re all I have
When the world comes down on me
You’re the one I love
And I’m begging you to see
You’re all, you’re all, you’re all I have
You are, you are the one I love
You are, you are, you’re all I have

Your love for me was always there
Maybe too much for me to care
Now that I know I messed it up
I’d give my all to take it back

‘Cause you’re all I have
When the world comes down on me
You’re the one I love
And I’m begging you to see
You’re all, you’re all, you’re all I have
You are, you are the one I love
You are, you are, you’re all I have

Finally it seems like show is getting good - not as good as last season but bleh it’s to be expected. But I have to say this was the best performance of the season. Most crews really surprised me in a good way while the others were just plain jane. Surprisingly I felt myself agreeing with Lil’ Mama a lot this week. GASP! What is up with Mario this week? He isn’t a judge. I mean does he realize this or not? Honestly, Mario you’re cute and all but shut the hell up when the judges are talking. With that said on to the review:

Asiid 3.5/5 — It was impressive, much better than last week. The different rolls were good and so original, which was definitely entertaining. Just when I thought ‘oh so that is their task’ they went and pulled another type of ‘roll’. Why no 4? Like Lil’ Mama said it was extremely sloppy throughout the routine. At points it looked like some of the crew was confused on what to do or it just looked like they were all dancing separately instead of like a union. From this performance it is clear that everyone in this group do not perform at the same level, which takes away from the performance. I’m not sure if this is because not everyone in the group is rehearsing as hard or if it’s because the different levels of dancing ability between the members.

Soreal Cru 4/5 — It was such a cute and entertaining performance - original movements to a rather lame task. The beginning was slow and corny, but what saved them from getting less than a 4 was the fact that their movements were together. The hand movement they did at the beginning where then they moved to place was the only turn off for me and the part I thought was lame.  Besides that this crew had a good combination of dancing and tricks - kudos to them this week.

Super Cr3w 5/5 — A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. At first I was like what is up with those suits and then I’m like ‘ohhhh’ Superman = Super Cr3w. The jump in the air was jaw dropping - I mean for him to be thrown up so high, land back and continue with the routine so flawlessly… bravo. Air flares? That was just like icing on the cake for me because not only were they extensive, but they were precise. There is nothing worse than a person doing a trick and then not be able to flow back to the dancing moves. Okay so no hardcore dancing moves in this performance but they did their form of dancing: break dancing which is awesome regardless. (They received my vote this week once again.)

Boogie Bots 4/5 — Impressive performance, eh? The word ‘impressive’ does not cover it. When the lights turned off I was just so into the performance. The mixture of dancing and tricks was well done - though I have to mention it did not have enough dancing for my taste. The video game concept was unique enough and certainly made for a good performance from this crew. I enjoyed the fact that they didn’t stick to just one video game which was what I thought they would do but instead had such a variety of game moves. It is obvious from this performance how much this crew works together - they not only know their moves to heart but that of their fellow crew member, which is something that can’t be said of all the crews.

Fanny Pack 3/5 — It was a relatively decent performance. I loved the beginning the shelf things on their feet was a really cute idea and rather unique. But their props and clothing can only go so far. While the dancing was executed well enough I have to say that it was not ‘impressive’. Considering what’s on the line you would think that this crew would show better dancing movements. Not that their dancing moves tonight were bad but this crews skills is seriously lacking in the entertainment factor. Are their moves clean? Yes. Do their moves have me saying ‘oh *beep* that was hot’? No. Overall decent performance but it stood rather plain compared to the previous performances.

Supreme Soul 3.5/5 — I must say I was shockingly surprised with this crew. The peel off I have to disagree with Lil’ Mama and say that it could have been better but it was a good concept. The reason why this group didn’t receive a higher score from me was because of the fact that the performance seemed ‘wack’. Sure enough the song selected sucked and the concept of the elevator was the hardest from all the crews but none of that is an excuse for the lacking of dance moves. When I say ‘lack of dance moves’ I don’t mean that they didn’t dance enough but rather the level of their dance moves was lacking. I mean the performance showed nothing great from them - just the same ol’ thing we all know they can do. Nothing about this performance surprised me but it was still a decent routine overall.

Phresh Select 3/5 & Xtreme Dance Force 3/5My predication from last week came true. I was not surprised that these two groups were at the bottom. Both performances were average at best and didn’t showcase enough potential. Honestly speaking however the performance given by Xtreme Dance Force was a lot better for me. Phresh Select has a serious communication issue like they said and it can clearly be seen through their performance. The word sloppy does not begin to describe Phresh Select BUT the performance with Xtreme was a touch sloppy at parts. Just because their task was an earthquake did not mean they had to have sloppy placement. Considering that their task was an earthquake I agree with Shane in saying that Xtreme should have stepped a lot harder. Like I said last week Xtreme Dance Force had to leave this week. Why? As if it isn’t obvious. The level of their potential was not as high as Phresh Select. Phresh Select can do better if they actually try because as of right now all they are giving are half-baked performances.

For next week who do I predict will be at the bottom two? Fanny Pack and Phresh Select. Not only do they have a relatively low fan base compared to the other crews but their performances were definitely lacking this week. Who do I think will leave? Phresh Select.

This is what happens whenever I say the words ‘come here’ or ‘I want to touch you’.

In this battlefield where hearts bend and break, it is better to be heart less so you don’t feel any pain.

…and that is my quote for today.

7.1.2008 | Ludo - Love Me Dead

Love me cancerously
Like a salt-sore soaked in the sea.
‘High-maintenance’ means
You’re a gluttonous queen
Narcissistic and mean.
Kill me romantically
Fill my soul with vomit
Then ask me for a piece of gum.
Bitter and dumb
You’re my sugarplum.
You’re awful, I love you!

CHORUS
She moves through moonbeams slowly
She knows just how to hold me
And when her edges soften
Her body is my coffin
I know she drains me slowly
She wears me down to bones in bed

Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh…
Love me dead! Love me dead!

You’re a faith-healer on T.V.
You’re an office park without any trees
Corporate and cold
Gushing for gold
Leave me alone.
You suck so passionately
You’re a parasitic, psycho, filthy creature
finger-bangin’ my heart
You call me up drunk
Does the fun ever start?
You’re hideous and sexy!

REPEAT CHORUS

Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh…
Love me dead! Love me dead!

SOLO

Love me cancerously
Brrrot-dot-da-d-da-da!
How’s your new boy?
Does he know about me?
You’ve got the mark of the beast.
You’re born of a jackal! You’re beautiful!

REPEAT CHORUS

Wha’ ’bout that sign on my head
That says, oh…
Love me dead!

6.26.2008 | Season 2 - Episode 2

Another week down!! Woot!! Okay as you can tell I am way pumped after watching this week’s episode.  Not because the dancing was hot but just because I have a lot to say about the performances given. There were no 5’s given this week and I think that has to do a lot with the songs given to the groups. Mostly all the songs were song paced and clearly no group can properly dance to slow songs. This episode made me so much better than last weeks but it was still just so disappointing. Weren’t there supposed to be new challenges with season 2? And what was up with Shane this week? I guess that man got laid this week because he did not go harsh at ALL, which again disappointed me because I always felt he critiqued very at point. Anyway I won’t babble anymore and get on with my review of the dancing.

Super Cr3w 4/5 - Granted their performance last week was much better. This performance was definitely not bad. There is not much else to say though. The performance consisted more of tricks than actually dancing which did disappoint me a little. Regardless though the performance was an A and it was very pumped. If you saw the performance then it literally can stand on its on - no more words are needed. (This was the crew that got my vote this week.)

Fanny Pack 3.5/5 - YES! They were in the top six this week, which this group well deserves. It oozed originality and it showed dancing which to me is the most important thing. I was impressed considering this group is so eighties and honestly I didn’t think they would do well in modern music moves. I was wrong! I agree with J.C. saying that it was sloppily in a few parts but the hype made up for it.

Supreme Soul 3.5/5 - Surprised that their in the top six? No. Like I said in my last post because it is up to American I already knew they would be safe. But this week’s performance was much better. Not to say it was smooth because it wasn’t. It still needs much improvement but I loved the ending bit. I immensely disagree with Shane, they did NOT rip this show with that performance. It was a vast improvement and I clearly see this group has potential. The beginning of this performance was for me ‘wack’ I didn’t like it at all. Very slow moving, very almost clumsy.

Phresh Select 3/5 -  Honestly only one word comes to mind: boring. It seemed like a very boring and safe routine. I didn’t like it much and felt they could have done much better overall. The lean back with the jacket was the only moment I thought was ‘cute’ and well done. Kind of sloppy at certain moments and the fact that the song wasn’t a fast pace one only added to the staleness of this performance.

Asiid 3/5 -  I liked last week’s performance better but this performance wasn’t bad. Surprising I agree with Lil Mama and thought they could have done the performance in a much smoother pace. It seemed too rush and not very crazy, not at all what the song called for. There was not one thing in the performance that awed me. The dancing and what little tricks they did were half baked in my opinion. I think placement was one of the things that made me cringe as I saw the performance and like I said I thought they were all over the place.

SoReal 3/5 - Average performance just like last weeks. The beginning was the best part of the whole performance but overall it was sloppy. Very, very sloppy in fact. I believe that is due to the song being a relatively slow song. There were tons of errors doing the performance and again like the other crews it was a half baked routine. It was more than obvious that this group did not rehearsal as much as they should or if they did maybe that just means they are not up to standards.

Xtreme Dance Force 3/5 - What the hell!! Better than Boogie Bots, I think not and obviously the crowd agreed. Better than last week’s performance, that can be said without a doubt. Again another slow performance but I liked this one a bit more because it was clean cut. It was not sloppily but it was again a boring routine. There were no big dance moves or big tricks - just clean cut dancing which would have been good if it hadn’t been so plain jane.

Boogie Bots 3.5/5  &  Sass x7 2/5 - Half of my last week predications came true. I was never more surprised than when they said Boogie Bots was in the bottom two. American clearly cannot vote to save their ass. Loved the Boogie Bots performance. High paced (the only high paced song of the night) and so super clean and on point. I agree with J.C. in the point of it was not very difficult but it was not boring which is something I have said multipliable times about the other performances. Moving on to Sassx7… I think I fell asleep at one point. I don’t have much to say about Sassx7 - their performance spoke for itself and it was clear why they went home. The difference in level of these two performances was immense and Sassx7 just needs a lot more time to develop before they can compete on a grand scale.

My predications for next week? I believe that based on tonight’s performances and of course American’s voting pattern… the bottom two crews next week will be Phresh Select and Xtreme Dance Force. But who do I say will leave next week? Xtreme Dance Force.

6.20.2008 | Season 2 - Episode 1

I bet a lot of us who were fans of season 1 of Randy Jackson presents Americans Best Dance Crew tuned in for season 2 last night. I also bet a lot of is were disappointed with the dancing. At least I was very disappointed. The following is my view on each of the performances along with my rating (feel free to disagree).

SoReal 3/5 - There was nothing bad about this performance, but it was not impressive either.

Supreme Soul 1/5 - This was by far the worst performance of the night. Where was the dancing? It was a half baked routine and there was not one moment where I felt impressed.

Xtreme Dance Force 2/5 - There was alot of high energy in this performance but like Shane said it was ‘whack’. Nothing they did showed a real challenge. It would have been a much better performance if the stunts showed more effort.

Asiid 5/5 - Loved it. Best performance of the entire night. There was nothing in their routine that really had amazing shunts but the level of energy was definitely there. Most of all this group danced, they did what this show was all about dancing not dumb stunts. (This group was the one who got my vote.)

Boogie Bots 4/5 - This group has a very nice combo of both dancing and tricks. The only thing was at times they were a bit sluggish and overall could have been neater.

Super Cr3w 5/5 - The level of energy with this performance was amazing. The stunts and the dance flowed well together. Furthermore this group was really different with their performance, which really entertained the crowd. I personally couldn’t take my eyes off the scene during their performance.

Phresh Select 3/5 - I didn’t feel their performance flowed as well as  it should have and at times was very slow. The level of neatness was low which caused me to yawn during their performance. Overall not impressive.

Sass x7 2/5 - Cheerleaders, enough said. Seriously though for a group that claims not to be cheerleaders (and gets rather offended when called that) they are doing nothing on their part to shake that image off. Their performance was very sloppy at points, like really where was the ’sass’. Honestly like my other post had said, they should have been the ones to leave last night.

Fanny Pack 3/5 & Distorted X 3/5 - I fully agree with the judges and have to say that these two should not have been at the bottom two last night. Honestly speaking though both crews did a decent job with their performances and both were more or less on the same level. So then why did Fanny Pack stay? Easy. Fanny Pack is different - from their dancing to their style. They stand for something more then Distorted X. They have the potential to improve while Distorted X was mediocre at best.

My predications for next week? The top four will consist of Asiid, Boogie Bots, Super Cr3w, and because this is based on the votes I wouldn’t be suprised if it were Supreme Soul. But the real question is who will be leaving next week? Of course I have to say that Sassx7 will be the ones to leave, but who will they be up against? My opinion says Xtreme Dance Force.
