My crazy little dog Bitter Tasting
Jul 03

Finally it seems like show is getting good - not as good as last season but bleh it’s to be expected. But I have to say this was the best performance of the season. Most crews really surprised me in a good way while the others were just plain jane. Surprisingly I felt myself agreeing with Lil’ Mama a lot this week. GASP! What is up with Mario this week? He isn’t a judge. I mean does he realize this or not? Honestly, Mario you’re cute and all but shut the hell up when the judges are talking. With that said on to the review:

Asiid 3.5/5 — It was impressive, much better than last week. The different rolls were good and so original, which was definitely entertaining. Just when I thought ‘oh so that is their task’ they went and pulled another type of ‘roll’. Why no 4? Like Lil’ Mama said it was extremely sloppy throughout the routine. At points it looked like some of the crew was confused on what to do or it just looked like they were all dancing separately instead of like a union. From this performance it is clear that everyone in this group do not perform at the same level, which takes away from the performance. I’m not sure if this is because not everyone in the group is rehearsing as hard or if it’s because the different levels of dancing ability between the members.

Soreal Cru 4/5 — It was such a cute and entertaining performance - original movements to a rather lame task. The beginning was slow and corny, but what saved them from getting less than a 4 was the fact that their movements were together. The hand movement they did at the beginning where then they moved to place was the only turn off for me and the part I thought was lame.  Besides that this crew had a good combination of dancing and tricks - kudos to them this week.

Super Cr3w 5/5 — A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. At first I was like what is up with those suits and then I’m like ‘ohhhh’ Superman = Super Cr3w. The jump in the air was jaw dropping - I mean for him to be thrown up so high, land back and continue with the routine so flawlessly… bravo. Air flares? That was just like icing on the cake for me because not only were they extensive, but they were precise. There is nothing worse than a person doing a trick and then not be able to flow back to the dancing moves. Okay so no hardcore dancing moves in this performance but they did their form of dancing: break dancing which is awesome regardless. (They received my vote this week once again.)

Boogie Bots 4/5 — Impressive performance, eh? The word ‘impressive’ does not cover it. When the lights turned off I was just so into the performance. The mixture of dancing and tricks was well done - though I have to mention it did not have enough dancing for my taste. The video game concept was unique enough and certainly made for a good performance from this crew. I enjoyed the fact that they didn’t stick to just one video game which was what I thought they would do but instead had such a variety of game moves. It is obvious from this performance how much this crew works together - they not only know their moves to heart but that of their fellow crew member, which is something that can’t be said of all the crews.

Fanny Pack 3/5 — It was a relatively decent performance. I loved the beginning the shelf things on their feet was a really cute idea and rather unique. But their props and clothing can only go so far. While the dancing was executed well enough I have to say that it was not ‘impressive’. Considering what’s on the line you would think that this crew would show better dancing movements. Not that their dancing moves tonight were bad but this crews skills is seriously lacking in the entertainment factor. Are their moves clean? Yes. Do their moves have me saying ‘oh *beep* that was hot’? No. Overall decent performance but it stood rather plain compared to the previous performances.

Supreme Soul 3.5/5 — I must say I was shockingly surprised with this crew. The peel off I have to disagree with Lil’ Mama and say that it could have been better but it was a good concept. The reason why this group didn’t receive a higher score from me was because of the fact that the performance seemed ‘wack’. Sure enough the song selected sucked and the concept of the elevator was the hardest from all the crews but none of that is an excuse for the lacking of dance moves. When I say ‘lack of dance moves’ I don’t mean that they didn’t dance enough but rather the level of their dance moves was lacking. I mean the performance showed nothing great from them - just the same ol’ thing we all know they can do. Nothing about this performance surprised me but it was still a decent routine overall.

Phresh Select 3/5 & Xtreme Dance Force 3/5My predication from last week came true. I was not surprised that these two groups were at the bottom. Both performances were average at best and didn’t showcase enough potential. Honestly speaking however the performance given by Xtreme Dance Force was a lot better for me. Phresh Select has a serious communication issue like they said and it can clearly be seen through their performance. The word sloppy does not begin to describe Phresh Select BUT the performance with Xtreme was a touch sloppy at parts. Just because their task was an earthquake did not mean they had to have sloppy placement. Considering that their task was an earthquake I agree with Shane in saying that Xtreme should have stepped a lot harder. Like I said last week Xtreme Dance Force had to leave this week. Why? As if it isn’t obvious. The level of their potential was not as high as Phresh Select. Phresh Select can do better if they actually try because as of right now all they are giving are half-baked performances.

For next week who do I predict will be at the bottom two? Fanny Pack and Phresh Select. Not only do they have a relatively low fan base compared to the other crews but their performances were definitely lacking this week. Who do I think will leave? Phresh Select.

On a scale of 1-10 10 being the best I would say:
SuperCr3w- 9/10 I was expecting some more high-flying stuff but it was a good performance.
Boogie Bots- 8.5/10 I thought the glow in the dark bit was very cool and loved all the old video game references they put in.
Supreme Soul- 8.5/10 When they said what song they received I was just like how the hell are they going to do that? But I thought it was pretty good. And as someone already stated in another thread one part was very reminiscent of the Prepix routine lol.
ASIID- 7/10 I agree with Lil Mama that it was kind of sloppy and I wasn’t really impressed with it.
Fanny Pak- 8/10 I thought it was good, very creative.
Phresh Select- 7/10 It was okay nothing special. I have a feeling they are going home next week.
SoReal Cru- 8.5/10 I thought the snake elements were good and agree with the judges it was cool they incorporated their task into every movement.
XDF- 7/10 too much going on and to me trying to hard to portray the earthquakes.

I posted this on another thread and I didn’t see this one. Your reviews and rankings are very elaborate lol.I feel inadequate now. =( just j/k.

I think Phresh Select is going home just because their lack of being able to communicate is showing through their performance. Each week they are getting worse for me.

  3. Jade Says:

Yeah that and I don’t think they have a strong enough fanbase to capture the votes. They really need to step it up if they are in the bottom next week.

are u serious? the tricks that super cr3w can only go soo far. fanny pak deserves a 5/5. they were on task, they bridge together the whole concept and added stuff here and there.

soreal do the same choregraphy all the time. i just be watching them and seening moves from the previous episodes.

  5. Rosie Says:

The props and clothing do not showcase talent whereas tricks show skill. Get it? Fanny Pack does not deserve a 5 for a performance that showed NO SKILL. Their performance was something any crew could have pulled off in a blink of an eye. Were they on task? Yes. Were they good? Yes. Were they better than the other performances? No. Did they do anything amazing and jaw dropping? No. Enough said. Fanny Pack deserved a 3/5 and nothing higher.

As for SoReal… the moves are not always the same. This week they showed it up and did a well rounded performance and had an original concept to the an otherwise lame task.

  6. vernsmyhero Says:

actually fanny pak’s moves are more difficult than they look…..i used to think the things they did were pretty basic…but try doing it yourself and trust me its hard and even when i kinda get it…it does not look half as good as they look. fanny pak has skill. now don’t get me wrong i think tricks show sill as well and super cr3w was insane but to say that fanny pack shows no skill is completely bogus.

  7. rmauriceg Says:

i have to agree with you vernsmyhero..fanny pak has some serious choreography beneath their weird ass clothes.

  8. mistyfire Says:

Omg I hope the OP is not right this time >< Just a strong one, heheh.

  9. Nujabes_Love Says:

I agree with pretty much everything you said,
except I keep thinking that something “wtf” might happen to ASIID like Live In Color, and we all know LIC left in the 4th episode…

  10. peep_chick27 Says:

Skill just so happens to be a subjectional term. I don’t think Fanny Pak necessarily wants to be an over kill group like many of the others seem to be striving for. I don’t think they want to do what everyone else is doing and in return, recieve praise for it…what’s the fun in that? I believe Fanny Pak has something most of the other crews fail to recognize as an attribute- subtlety. Their moves are so “quiet,” so “absolute” that many will fail to notice it, let a lone be impressed by it, if at all, and often mistakenly dismiss them as skill-less.

They are the risk takers this season; they are the ones who don’t care to have a constant saftey net in doing what is common. Win or lose, they’ll do it their way. No matter if people recognize it as “skill.”

They have the most creative choreography, in my opinion. No, they don’t do jaw-dropping flip combinations and rarely use any hip-hop style in their routine. By you know what? I’m glad that they don’t. That would get boring.

I’m happy they have made it this far. Congratulations to them.

I agree with your opinions OP, my list is kinda the same:

    1. Super Cr3w
    2. Boogie Bots
    3. Fanny Pack
    4. SoReal Crew
    5. Supreme Soul
    6. ASSID
    7. *Xtreme Dance Force/ Phresh Select

I actually thought Xtreme Dance force was more together and took more of the concept than Phresh Select… I dunno, I think the fan-base that XDF had (which is like no one :P ) really effected the judging.

and Boogie Bots are soo cute! But for real, Super Cr3w basically kills. I mean, they have soo much experience in the dance world… I’ll be like “WTF” if they don’t win
